For over 20 years, the Bachelor of Nursing Pacific programme has successfully supported Pacific peoples to become Registered Nurses in Aotearoa, contributing positively to the health needs of the communities they serve. This unique programme integrates Pacific knowledge, cultural awareness, academic learning, and professional practice in a way that is ākonga‑centred and prepares graduates to practise safely and competently, both culturally and professionally, in Aotearoa and internationally.

This position is based at our Porirua campus and offers the opportunity to join a committed team delivering world‑class education to our future Pacific nursing workforce.

 

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate who can step into teaching for our Bachelor of Nursing Pacific Trimester 2 intake.

 

Requirements of the role

  • Experience working in clinical care settings, particularly Primary, Community, or Mental Health
  • Previous experience teaching Pacific peoples
  • Previous experience teaching bio‑nursing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Pacific world views
  • Commitment to mana‑enhancing practice
  • Adult teaching qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Master’s degree completed or currently in progress
  • Knowledge of SmartBoards, Moodle, and strong ICT/systems capability (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Full, clean driver licence
